How a landfill in Trotwood could impact you!

trash bin

DECREASED PROPERTY VALUE - Average property value could drop 30% - 90%.

HIGHER TAX BILLS - Additional funds will be needed to maintain streets damaged by increased volume of truck traffic.

WATER POLLUTION - A 55 gallon drum of toxic chemicals can contaminate 12 billion gallons of water. An EPA official stated, "No one has yet designed a landfill that does not leak."

HIGHER WATER BILLS - Sophisticated purification systems will be needed to ensure the purity of water supplies.

AIR POLLUTION - The smell and wind blown debris can travel at least seven miles.

NOISE POLLUTION - A minimum of 300 large trucks and semis could travel our roads daily.

LOSS OF FARM LAND - How much farm land can we stand to lose to a dump? Crops and animals produced in a landfill area would be contaminated.

It's very important, now more than ever, to attend the meetings. It has been confirmed that Waste Management has stated their intent to pursue a landfill facility on the 600 acre property they purchased.
At the Aug 13th meeting Ronald Vaughn Councilman, Ward 3 stated that Waste Management has been back in touch with the city regarding the landfill!
